The tempura prawn bento was nice! The tempura was crispy but not greasy. The rice was soft but not moist. This time, I ordered fried chicken wings. It was great and juicy. Will come back again.
Dinner with a friend. Ordering and payment is via mobile phone and qr code, which worked quite well with photos of most dishes. I had the salmon sashimi bento box and it was quite nice, good sized portion. The place is quite small and gets very busy, reservation is recommended.
We went for lunch at J Bento. The food was amazing we love it so much. The decorations and the bento boxes are so cute. I ordered Unagi and my friend ordered salmon sashimi and we were satisfied.
Not a great experience! We didn’t order a lot as we only wanted to try and see what is the rave is about.
The price you paid versus what you get is not what I expected. The teriyaki salmon was salty , small and rice was hard is not onigiri to say the least ( no vinegar in rice and is not wrap in seaweed ) ….Not the Japanese rice you eat then I look at the kitchen obviously it is not run by Japanese . Is just the simple sprinkle of flakes from shaker to called it onigiri. The karrage was just ok but nothing fancy. It is overpriced and overrated for bento 🍱 and stingy. I guess because it is in mt pleasant .
Personally I wouldn’t serve something like this if I was a cook or chef as it does not seem presentable the quantity is very little even the cold seaweed and potato give little . Somemore the ventilation is not good inside and we came out our clothes smells like deep fried foods . Service wasn’t great too. We rather go to Sunday everyday to get our Japanese fix at least the rice is Japanese and owner is Japanese.

Very chill place. Arrived at about 1130 and there were seats available BUT the place quickly filled up by noon, so much so that there was a queue to enter the place.
If you order 2 bento sets, you can purchase a side of wings for $5.
We did that by ordering a pork Bulgogi, chicken large and teriyaki salmon bento. All three were delicious but the pork Bulgogi was a tad too salty.
All in all, a really lovely meal and would return for another someday.
I can’t rave about JBento enough! It is my hands-down favourite Japanese restaurant. It is a cosy restaurant that makes the most delicious, thoughtful and authentic Japanese food. The service is kind and incredibly respectful. So glad we found this wonderful little place!
Second time dining here but first for dinner. The food was very well presented as you can see from the picture. The highlight for us would definitely be the cold soba as we do not know where else we could find them in Perth. Would definitely return. Be sure to make a reservation if dining in.
A nice spot for a taste of Japanese Bento lunch.
We dined at JBento for the first time on a weekday during the December school holiday period. Luckily we arrived early at 1215pm with a choice of tables because the place is very small and gets full very easily.
The place is unassuming from the exterior view but the interior was chic, nice ans minimalist.
We ordered the miso butter beef steak and the salmon sashimi bento set, and both were served quite quick, and tasted fresh and delicious.
Tip:
Book online for your table as it gets very busy for lunch
Parking outside is free for 3 hours
